Depending on the island, it begins in August and continues through October. On Oahu, it starts in mid-September. In downtown Honolulu, the Aloha Festival is held at the Iolani Palace, the home of the last reigning Hawaiian royalty. First are the opening ceremonies, and then there are hula dance performances.
